Raw Feeding

OUR DOGS ARE FED A RAW DIET CONSISTING OF MEAT, BONES, FRUIT AND VEG. THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION. FOR YEARS WE HAD FED DRY OR TINNED DOG FOOD THINKING WE WERE DOING OUR BEST, AND NOT REALISING WE COULD DO MUCH BETTER.

IT WAS A CONSTANT ITCHY SKIN ON ECHO THAT PROMPTED US TO START LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVE FEEDING AND AFTER READING OTHER SUCCESS STORIES AND JOINING THE B.A.R.F.LIST MAKING CONTACT WITH OTHER RAW FEEDERS WE DECIDED TO MAKE THE SWITCH.
WE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO COMMERCIAL FEEDING AGAIN, AND ALL OUR PUPPIES ARE RAISED ON A NATURAL DIET WHEN BEING WEANED

Basically what you are trying to do is imitate their diet to what it would be like  in the wild

RAW FEEDING WHERE DO I START??

1/

Try to find a 2nd hand freezer especially if you have more than one dog

2/

Go through the yellow pages looking for poultry farms etc. Most of them are more than happy to give you the carcases, necks etc. I pay 10p a lb.

3/

Have a word with your local butcher, find out what day he gets his biggest meat delivery  and ask if he would be willing to sell you the carcases and any other bone and scraps of offal etc

4/

Find out who is the main butcher chain in the surrounding towns and which shop does all the deboning and cutting for the other shops. They can supply you on a larger scale than the local butcher maybe

5/

Look out for special offers on chicken portions etc in the freezer shops

REMEMBER THE DIET MUST BE 80% BONE TO MEAT
