At private less formal meetings, the organised
part of the day can be blended with a spot of social coursing or pest
control. Bill is seen here at the end of such a day with some of the hares
taken by his deerhound bitch. On this particular estate, culls of between
500-700 hares per year are taken by the game keepers, mainly by the use of
rifles at night.
